The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, from Russia has responded to the American Ambassador to Kosovo, Geoffrey Hovenier, that it is not the position of the USA that was stated in the statement of the “All-Serbian Assembly” about Kosovo.

Vulin called Hovenier “the so-called ambassador” while again using the pejorative term “shiptari”, ignoring a court decision in Serbia, according to which the term is “politically incorrect and offensive”.

“The so-called US ambassador in Pristina has a problem with the statement of the All-Serbian Assembly. Hovenier has no problem with Kurti abolishing the dinar, which violates every agreement and for 12 years without forming the Association, but he is angry because Serbia and Srpska do not recognize Kosovo. If it’s easier, we don’t even know him as an ambassador and even Shiptari hardly know him. Therefore, Hovenier does his work in Pristina as if he was sent as a punishment. Shiptari (Albanians) were always afraid of the bosses in Washington, but also of the ambassadors in Pristina. Since Hovenier was sent to them, they fear only his bosses. Threaten us, replace us, put us under sanctions for nothing, Kosovo is Serbia”, said Vulin, Novosti reports.

The Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, said that the USA and its Western partners do not agree with the Declaration adopted on June 8 by Serbia and the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska.

In the declaration approved in Belgrade at a meeting between the two governments, Kosovo is mentioned as “an inalienable part of Serbia”.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to read all the reports related to the ‘All-Serbian Assembly’, but I understand that language is used there that says Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia. I understand that this is their position, but this is not the position of any of us, it is not the position of the US, our QUINT partners or anyone else,” said Hovenier.
