Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 4 in Vladivostok, according to Russian President’s aide Yuri Ushakov.
Ushakov stated that the meeting will occur on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which will be held from September 3 to 6 at the Far Eastern Federal University campus in Vladivostok.
Vulin met with Ushakov, Putin’s foreign policy advisor, three weeks ago during an official visit to Moscow.
The Serbian government had announced that Vulin emphasized Serbia as the only European country not to impose sanctions on Russia, noting that relations between the two nations have never been more sincere and meaningful.
Earlier in June, Vulin met in Moscow with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu, and Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
This was Vulin’s first official visit to Russia since being appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia.
Vulin, a former director of the Security and Information Agency (BIA), is under U.S. sanctions, among other reasons, for his ties to Russia. Since Moscow’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine over two years ago, Vulin has visited Russia multiple times.
