On April 1, 2026, Aleksandar Vulin, President of the Supervisory Board of “Srbijagas,” expressed particular gratitude to Vladimir Putin for giving Serbia the opportunity to protect its population and economy from the instability and economic shocks that the countries of the European Union experienced.

Vulin stated that Russia has been a reliable energy partner for Serbia for decades and that there is no comprehensive alternative to Serbia’s energy cooperation with Russia. “There is no misunderstanding in the energy sector between Serbia and Russia, despite attempts by third parties to use sanctions or the physical destruction of parts of the gas infrastructure,” he said.
