Halil Thaçi, a Member of Parliament from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV), stated in an interview with RTV21 that it is unlikely the Kosovo Assembly will be constituted tomorrow, citing a lack of political consensus on the election of a new Speaker.

Thaçi expressed openness to negotiations with the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), should they also be willing to engage in a compromise.

“LVV, together with Guxo and Alternativa, is ready for a compromise agreement with Nisma, which would be welcomed by our group. We believe this cooperation could help us break the deadlock that is currently paralyzing the country,” he said.

He added that no significant developments are expected tomorrow regarding the constitution of the Assembly, but emphasized that Vetëvendosje’s efforts will continue.

“I call on my fellow MPs to reflect and take responsibility.”

Kosovo has been facing a parliamentary crisis, as political parties have failed to agree on the leadership structure of the Assembly following recent elections. The impasse has delayed key institutional functions, including the formation of a new government.
