Mefail Bajqinovci, MP from Vetëvendosje (VV), has stated that the proposal for the Speaker of the Assembly rightfully belongs to the leading party, emphasizing that VV has nominated Albulena Haxhiu for the position.

“As we’ve previously proposed, our candidate is Albulena Haxhiu, the most voted woman in the country, with the greatest parliamentary and executive experience.”

He stressed that VV has made efforts to engage in dialogue, with Prime Minister Albin Kurti even sending a formal letter to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) to initiate talks.

“We are open to discussion, but the position of Assembly Speaker is not up for negotiation because it belongs to the first-ranked party. Regarding the government, of course, discussions can take place,” Bajqinovci said.

This statement reaffirms VV’s firm stance on institutional order, while also showing flexibility on broader political negotiations necessary to end the ongoing institutional deadlock.
