In front of the Assembly of Kosovo, 120 white sheets bearing the names of current MPs were placed on the ground, each marked with a red X and labeled with the phrase “Walk of Shame.”

This symbolic action was organized as a protest against the failure to constitute Kosovo’s institutions and the ongoing political deadlock. Since the February 9, 2025 elections, Kosovo remains without functioning decision-making institutions, creating a political and institutional vacuum.

The organizer of this action, Fatmir Bytyqi, said that he has been standing in front of the Assembly for 26 days and nights.

He emphasized that his goal is to raise public awareness so that citizens will never again vote for the current MPs.

“I have now been in front of the Assembly of Kosovo for 26 days in protest against the failure to constitute the most important institution of the Republic. My main purpose is to make citizens aware that these MPs must never again be voted for. In 2014, we had a case where the Assembly did not function for several months, and now this is the second time. The reason is that in 2014, we did not hold MPs accountable for not doing their job, and this situation is repeating itself today. Citizens must educate the political class that these 120 MPs must never be voted for again. It doesn’t matter which party—LDK, PDK, VV—what matters is that these 120 names should not be voted for. They cannot continue to play with the institutions of the country,” he told EO.
