Ambassador and long-time friend of Kosovo, William Walker, emphasized the importance of the media’s role in preserving and transmitting historical memory to younger generations during his appearance tonight as a special guest on Politiko.

Walker noted that a significant portion of Kosovo’s population around 30 to 50% is under the age of 25. As a result, they neither remember nor can directly know what happened in 1999 and in the critical period leading up to it.

According to him, it is the duty of journalists and television channels to continuously report on these events, ensuring that the historical truth reaches the younger generation.

“Not by inviting me, but by speaking continuously, to make sure that the young people of Kosovo represent what Kosovo stands for today for them,” Walker said.

He also highlighted the importance of ongoing discussion and engagement on these topics, expressing his gratitude to the program for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of the debate.
