The head of Iran’s intelligence agency and his deputy were killed today in Israeli airstrikes, according to Iran’s state news agency Tasnim.
The report states that Mohammad Kazemi, head of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)—one of the country’s two main intelligence agencies—was among the victims.
This comes amid a broader Israeli campaign targeting Iranian military infrastructure and nuclear scientists. Alongside the deaths of Kazemi and his deputy, Israel has reportedly executed 14 other Iranian nuclear scientists in recent days.
Some of the scientists named include:
Fereydoon Abbasi – Nuclear Engineer
Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi – Physicist
Akbar Motalebi Zadeh – Chemical Engineer
Saeed Barji – Materials Engineer
Amir Hassan Fakhahi – Physicist
Abd al-Hamid Minousehr – Reactor Physicist
Mansour Asgari – Physicist
Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari Daryani – Nuclear Engineer
Ali Bakhouei Katirimi – Engineer
The killings underscore the intensification of the conflict between Israel and Iran, with Tel Aviv escalating targeted operations aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear and intelligence capabilities.
