The United States of America has delivered a clear and firm message to the countries of the Western Balkans, openly opposing politicians with expansionist ambitions and dangerous transformative ideologies. This stance was made public by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau during his speech at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

In his statement, Landau emphasized that the U.S. will not support leaders with unrealistic agendas or those built on ideological fantasies.

“America is against politicians who harbor expansionist aspirations,” the senior Trump administration official declared at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, adding that the U.S. will work only with partners who have a realistic approach.

“Let me be clear: The United States is not offering unlimited resources for undefined, uncertain, or unrealistic purposes. This fundamental point is often lost among many advocates seeking to remake foreign societies along utopian lines. We are not interested in imposing a vision of society that reflects the preferences of distant bureaucrats and narrow activists. The United States can be a willing partner with significant political capital. We can work very hard; but we will only work with those committed to practical realism in their countries. We reject the two unstable extremes: the desire for extraordinary transformation on the one hand, or the re-judgment of ancient grievances on the other. Endlessly expansive politics, without substance or historical humility, becomes the enemy of strategy and constitutional state-building. This is not our goal, function, or mission,” declared Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State. /A2 CNN/
