Following disappointing results in the local elections, Xhemajl Hasani, Nisma’s candidate for Mayor of Podujevë, has resigned from all positions and functions within the party, Reporteri.net reports.

Hasani stated that the main reason for his resignation is the poor electoral outcome, which fell short of both his personal expectations and those of the party.

He said: “I gave my maximum in service to Nisma and the citizens, but it seems that my work and dedication were not sufficiently recognized by the voters.

In a Facebook post, Hasani wrote:

“I, Xhemajl Hasani, head of the Nisma Socialdemokrate branch in Podujevë, resign from all positions and functions I hold within the party. The main reason for my resignation is the election result, which did not meet our expectations and my personal expectations. I gave my maximum in service to Nisma and the citizens, but it seems that my work and dedication were not fully appreciated by the voters. In this way, I want to pave the way for the strengthening and revitalization of Nisma’s structures by vacating the branch chairman position.”

In the elections, Hasani received only 0.5% of the votes, totaling 192 votes.
