On Friday afternoon, the regional police in the north of Kosovo presented weapons, ammunition, explosives, and military uniforms seized during a police operation in the village of Rodel, Leposaviq. Among the items seized were military uniforms from the former Yugoslavia, one of which bore markings of the “Civil Defense,” an organization declared terrorist by the Kosovo government.
During an emergency press conference, authorities confirmed that the operation is ongoing, and one person is currently being interrogated.
Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Xhelal Sveçla, announced that terrorist organizations banned by local authorities continue to operate within Kosovo. He also emphasized that Serbia continues to harbor Serbian terrorists, including Milan Radojičić, who is reportedly at the helm of the terrorist activities, attempting to keep the remnants of these groups alive in both Serbia and Kosovo. Sveçla called for those involved with these terrorist organizations to surrender their weapons and cease their activities, encouraging them to reintegrate into society.
Kosovo Police Director, Gazmend Hoxha, revealed that police units, acting on intelligence, found weapons and ammunition in an abandoned house in Rodel. Hoxha also disclosed that samples of suspected explosive materials had been collected for analysis.
Minister Sveçla further assured the public that the Kosovo Police is fully capable of dealing with any remnants of the “Civil Defense” terrorists. Regarding the ongoing protests in Serbia, Sveçla stated there were no indications of imminent attacks but affirmed that Kosovo’s state apparatus is prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
