How the Weapons Hidden by Members of the Terrorist Group that Carried Out the Attack in Banjska Were Found: What is Known So Far
The Kosovo Police, after receiving information from the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, found and seized a quantity of weapons in northern Mitrovica yesterday. These weapons were hidden by former members of the terrorist group that carried out the attack in Banjska on September 24 last year.
Acting Director of Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, during a press conference where the found and confiscated weapons were displayed, announced that the weapons and other equipment found are suspected to have been there for a long time.
He stated that the two suspects in the Banjska case, Zharko Cvetković and Marijan Radojević, who are linked to the incident, are wanted.
“Both locations have names, the first location is linked to Marijan Radojević, while the second location is linked to Zharko Cvetković… and both are wanted for the Banjska case… We believe that these weapons and equipment have been there for a long time,” said Elshani.
The displayed weapons include various calibers of long guns, pistols, hand grenades, and more.
The first location is in northern Mitrovica, near the “Three Skyscrapers,” and is linked to the wanted person, Marijan Radojević, while the second location is on “Miners’ Squad” street, also in northern Mitrovica, linked to the wanted individual Zharko Cvetković. At this location, three AK-47 rifles, four magazines with 60 bullets, one magazine with 11 bullets, a handgun holster, and a military bag were found.
At the second location, a belt with 25 shotgun shells, 23 shotgun shells, a TT pistol with one magazine containing eight bullets, three magazines each with eight bullets, two magazines in a holster, 28 bullets for long guns, 10 magazines with long gun bullets (99 bullets), a box of 7×62 bullets, four gun cleaners, and a box with suspicious material were found.
At the third location, a long gun with a bayonet, a pistol with two magazines each containing eight 7×62 bullets and a holster, a black bag with gun cleaning equipment, two boxes each containing 50 7×62 bullets, three magazines with holsters each containing eight bullets, and a long hunting rifle with a bag were found.
Images of the found weapons were later published on the “X” platform by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.
He stated that the destabilizing threats from Belgrade will be opposed with law and order.
“Today, more explosives, weapons, and ammunition were once again confiscated in the north thanks to our vigilant security forces and increased cooperation with our citizens in the north. Destabilizing threats from Belgrade will be opposed with law and order,” Sveçla wrote.
