The spokesperson for the Regional Water Company “Prishtina,” Arjeta Mjeku, announced that the high turbidity levels in water from the Badovc Reservoir are expected to last only two to three days, after which the water will clear up and become drinkable again.

She clarified that the water is currently not safe for drinking due to turbidity, but it does not pose a serious health risk, as there is no increase in manganese levels, unlike previous incidents. According to Mjeku, the water can be used after boiling, but consumption is not recommended for drinking in order to protect public health.

“The high turbidity will last only two to three days and then the water will clear. While it is currently non-potable, it can be boiled, since it is merely cloudy and does not have elevated manganese levels like last time,” Mjeku stated in an interview with KTV.

She also confirmed that a dedicated water supply line has been secured for the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) to ensure access to safe drinking water.

Regarding the Batllava Reservoir, Mjeku emphasized that there is no turbidity, despite the increase in water volume, and the condition of the Ibar Canal has also improved compared to recent days.

Recent rainfall has positively affected reservoir levels, improving the situation following water shortages in Badovc and Batllava. Mjeku stressed that this ensures water supply until the end of the year, provided citizens use water responsibly and avoid illegal connections to the water network.
