White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt commented on the peace plan reported in international media.

She stated that “Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Marco Rubio have been working quietly over the past month,” emphasizing their engagement with both parties, Russia and Ukraine, to find a sustainable solution.

Leavitt added that the talks are ongoing but declined to provide further details. “The plan is good for both sides, and we believe it should be accepted by both. We remain optimistic following the discussions,” she said.

In an initial reaction, Ukrainian authorities described the U.S.-Russia plan as “absurd and unacceptable.”

Leavitt also highlighted the meeting between U.S. Secretary of Defense Dan Driscoll and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “We are having productive discussions with both sides to bring this war to an end,” she concluded.
