White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Steve Witkoff, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy, has presented a ceasefire proposal to Hamas regarding Gaza, reports Rks News.
According to her, the proposal has been preliminarily approved by Israeli authorities. “I can also confirm that these discussions are ongoing, and we hope to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza so that all hostages can be returned home,” Leavitt said, as reported by Skynews.
She added that she would not comment further on the content of the proposal but emphasized that Hamas has not yet accepted it at this stage. Discussions for a temporary humanitarian solution continue between the involved parties.
