White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, during a press briefing, was asked about the situation in Ukraine, talks with Russia, and the support the U.S. might provide to Ukraine.

In her statement, Leavitt emphasized that President Donald Trump has spoken with both leaders—the Russian and Ukrainian presidents and that both have expressed willingness to engage in negotiations.

When asked about a possible U.S. air presence in Ukraine or providing protection as a security guarantee, she replied: “It is an option and a possibility,” according to international media reports.

However, she stressed that President Trump has ruled out the deployment of U.S. ground troops.
