The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has reported that 51 wildfire outbreaks have been registered across Kosovo during the latest reporting period. According to official data, 19 remain active while 32 have been contained thanks to the swift intervention of firefighting units and supporting structures.

The situation is being managed in close coordination with Firefighting Units, Emergency Operation Centers 112, the Kosovo Police, and other responsible institutions to prevent further spread and protect lives and property.

The worst-hit areas are the municipalities of Kamenicë, Mitrovicë, and Podujevë, where the fires are larger and more difficult to control. In the village of Meshinë, Kamenicë, alongside firefighters, KFOR has been deployed and conducted aerial firefighting operations to combat the flames.

The Emergency Management Agency and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have expressed gratitude for the dedication and professionalism of firefighters, the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Security Force, KFOR, local municipalities, and citizens who contributed to managing the crisis.

Authorities are urging increased caution, especially during periods of high temperatures and strong winds, advising citizens to avoid lighting fires in nature and to report any suspected fire outbreaks to the emergency number 112.
