The Emergency Management Agency reported that 97 wildfire outbreaks were recorded across Kosovo yesterday. By evening, 26 of these fires remained active, while no new updates have been issued for today.
The number of fires increased significantly in the afternoon, with the most severe situations reported in the municipalities of Klina, Vushtrri, Podujevë, and Mamushë.
The Agency stated:
“This increase in fire outbreaks has created major challenges for response teams on the ground. The situation is currently under control but remains highly demanding.”
Authorities appeal to all citizens to:
- Report any cases of arson to law enforcement.
- Avoid actions that could start fires.
- Call emergency numbers 112, 193, or 192 for urgent incidents.
The Agency also expressed gratitude for the dedication of professional firefighting and rescue units, the Kosovo Police, and the Kosovo Security Force (FSK), who continue to work tirelessly on the ground to manage the situation.
