Firefighters across Southern Europe are battling multiple wildfires fueled by extreme heat and record temperatures.

In France, over 1,400 firefighters are actively working to contain fires in the Aude region, where more than 160 km² of forest have burned, and tragically, one person has lost their life.

Meanwhile, in Spain and Greece, firefighting teams continue their relentless efforts against flames that have caused significant damage and forced mass evacuations.

In Turkey, the fires are largely under control, and four individuals have been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Scientists warn that climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of such wildfires, creating a growing public health emergency across the region.
