Wildfires are raging across the Western US, destroying homes and forcing evacuations. Extreme heat and dry conditions have fueled dangerous blazes.

In Southern California, a fire ignited by fireworks destroyed at least six homes and damaged seven others in Riverside. The fire, which erupted during a heatwave, burned nearly a square mile before being contained.

In the Pacific Northwest, multiple fires are burning across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The town of Huntington, Oregon, with around 500 residents, was evacuated late Sunday. The fire, which covered over 272 square miles uncontrollably, led to the closure of part of Interstate 84.

Further west, a fast-moving fire started Monday afternoon on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, leading to mandatory evacuation notices near Mosier.

In Utah, evacuation orders were lifted for a fire near Salt Lake City that threatened neighborhoods around the state Capitol over the weekend. The fire, which started Saturday and grew to about 200 acres, is now partially under control.

The ongoing heatwave and extremely dry conditions continue to exacerbate fire risks in the region, with firefighters and residents on high alert as they battle these dangerous flames.
