Milan Radoicic has already been formally charged by Kosovo for the attack in Banjksa, Zvecan. Beyond the indictment in Kosovo, Prime Minister Albin Kurti already has a clear request to Serbia for his surrender, while the international community is demanding an investigation and responsibility for Radoicic from Serbia.

Prime Minister Kurti reiterated the request for Radoicic’s surrender, which he has reiterated several times this year. After the Berlin Summit, which Kurti attended along with other Western Balkan leaders, the prime minister demanded Radoicic’s surrender.

“We further insist that the chief criminal Milan Radoicic be handed over, who killed our police sergeant, Kosovo hero Afrim Bunjaku, but also his paramilitary group of terrorists, which are already under the 160 – page indictment of the State Prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Kosovo,” Kurti said.

A few days ago, Kurti had highlighted this request during an interview with BnB Bloomberg. In this interview, Kurti “also urged the EU to put more pressure on Belgrade to help ease tensions with an agreement to normalize relations,” BnB Bloomberg reported a few weeks ago.

“It should have happened yesterday. I believe it is possible, ” Kurti said on the issue of Radoicic’s surrender.

On the other hand, the Internationals have so far only demanded criminal responsibility and an investigation of Radoicic in Serbia.

The US had even called him a” criminal“, demanding that Serbia”hold accountable those involved in the attack carried out by ethnic Serb paramilitaries in Banjska that resulted in the tragic death of a Kosovo police sergeant”.

“We have a clear view of Radoicic. He claimed responsibility for the attack in Banjska through his lawyers. He is a criminal who must be held accountable” ” said Ambassador Hovenier.

In the same line of demands is the German ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde. Weeks ago, Rohde had demanded that Radiocic be held accountable in Serbia, as his “extradition” is “unrealistic”.

“The self-declared leader of this group, Radoicic, is still on the run. We have said, We have repeated, that he must be accountable. It is located in many places where it is located. It is clearly very unrealistic to extradite him, but my government has made it clear, since he is in Serbia, he must be held accountable there, and until that is done, we have a problem in the relationship with Serbia. But it is up to Serbia to do so, and our expectations are clear,” Rohde said.

On September 24, 2023, an attack took place in Banjska, Zvecan, where Kosovo police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku fell on duty, while three members of the armed group were neutralized.

Shortly after the attack, Radoicic admitted responsibility for organising and leading the armed attack.
