Rade Nedelković, a security guard at the “Rashka Banja” hotel and long-time resident of the village of Banjska, testified on Tuesday in the ongoing trial related to the September 24th armed attack. He stated that Milan Radoičić was the organizer of the assault, adding that Radoičić himself had admitted responsibility.
“Yes, he admitted it himself. No matter what I think, he took responsibility. But it’s possible,” Nedelković told the panel of judges.
Nedelković, who has lived in Banjska for 60 years, described seeing uniformed individuals near the hotel where he works early on the morning of September 24. He said he warned them to leave the hotel terrace.
“I didn’t see any vehicle, but I saw several of them in uniform. I warned them to leave the terrace of the ‘Rashka Banja’ hotel. They were near the bridge. I said someone might shoot them. They came, gave orders, and then left,” he explained.
Under questioning by State Prosecutor Naim Abazi, Nedelković stated that a wounded individual stayed overnight in one of the hotel rooms, though he didn’t know what happened afterward.
“He stayed in one of the rooms. I went home the next morning, so I don’t know what happened after that,” he said.
Asked about a previous statement mentioning that some individuals had brought the wounded person and then headed toward the monastery, Nedelković confirmed:
“They went on foot, up the stairs.”
The witness said the wounded man was sheltered in the hotel following a call from his supervisor, Ivan Filimonović.
“He didn’t exactly order me, but he told me to give him room number 6,” he said.
When asked about the hotel’s guest records, Nedelković responded:
“They keep the guestbook; they record how long guests stay.”
Regarding the name “Slivić,” mentioned in his earlier statement, Nedelković said he didn’t know the person. When asked if his son took part in the attack, he replied:
“I don’t know if he took part, but since he was there—most likely, yes.”
On the involvement of other individuals he had previously mentioned, Nedelković said he couldn’t identify them because they wore masks.
“I don’t know—they had masks on. I can’t say who was really there. Maybe Vlastimir Andrić, but I don’t remember mentioning them because I didn’t see them.”
Regarding Milan Radoičić, Nedelković said he didn’t know him personally but had heard of him.
“I’ve only heard of him—never seen him,” he said, though he recalled that Radoičić may have visited the hotel once.
“I think he came once, but I don’t know more. Even if he came, he came discreetly.”
When asked whether he believed Radoičić was the organizer of the attack, Nedelković reiterated:
“Yes, he admitted it himself. No matter what I think, he took responsibility. It’s possible.”
He concluded emotionally:
“What are you asking me for, when you already know who they are? Milan Radoičić wouldn’t dare do this alone. What I declared to the police is what really happened. Those who were in the rooms moved close to the windows, and I told them to get away, as someone might shoot from outside. They listened and moved away… I heard gunfire—nothing else. I called my daughter at home, she has four children, just to check how they were doing. I also called the housekeeper, she was home alone. I wasn’t too afraid of the shooting—after all, you only die once.”
