Local Serbs have begun gathering in North Mitrovica to protest the reopening of the Ibar Bridge, which has been closed to vehicle traffic since the end of the Kosovo war.
High-ranking officials from the Serbian List are participating in the protest, and there is a significant police presence alongside EULEX.
Since the early morning hours, EULEX and KFOR members have been stationed on buildings near the Ibar Bridge in Mitrovica. However, experts contracted by the government to assess the bridge’s stability have not yet been seen at the site.
A protest by local Serbs opposing the reopening of the Ibar Bridge, which has been closed to vehicle traffic since the end of the Kosovo war, is scheduled to take place at 11:00 AM.
