Twenty-one new state prosecutors will soon join Kosovo’s Basic Prosecution Offices, as 153 candidates have applied for these positions. The written test is being held at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in Vushtrri.

“The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) has today organized the Written Test for candidates for State Prosecutors, which is taking place as part of the recruitment and appointment procedures for twenty-one (21) new prosecutors in the Basic Prosecution Offices of the Republic of Kosovo,” the Prosecutorial System’s announcement stated.

In adherence to the principles of transparency, accountability, and equal access, the KPC clarified that the test was drafted today — on the same day it is being held — in the presence of domestic and international observers and monitors to ensure the integrity and credibility of the recruitment process.

Out of the total 153 candidates, 71 are women and 82 are men.

“This Written Test is being attended by a total of 153 candidates — 71 female and 82 male. The administration and supervision of the Written Test is being overseen by Ardian Hajdaraj, in his capacity as Chair of the Commission for Prosecutor Recruitment, accompanied by other members of the Commission,” the statement further reads.

The process is being observed and monitored by representatives of both domestic and international partners.

“The KPC will continue to keep the public informed in a timely manner regarding the next phase of the recruitment process — the oral interviews — until its conclusion with the appointment of successful candidates as State Prosecutors,” the statement concludes.
