A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Waldshut-Tiengen area near the Swiss border, involving a five-member Albanian family.
The family was returning from Kosovo, where they had spent the end-of-year holidays, and the accident happened just shortly before they were due to arrive at their place of residence in Germany.
As a result of this tragic accident, the young child Teo Mendim Morina lost his life.
The news of his death was confirmed by a family member, who announced on Facebook that the family involved in the accident was that of his nephew, Mandim Vllaznim Morina.
“With deep sorrow, we inform you that in the accident that occurred in Germany on January 7, 2026, while returning from Kosovo where they had spent the New Year holidays, the family of my nephew (my brother’s son), Mandim Vllaznim Morina, was involved. With profound pain, we announce that in this accident we lost our young nephew, Teo Mendim Morina. We will inform you in due time regarding the organization of funeral ceremonies, condolences, and burial,” the post states.
