Ahead of the 45th constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly today, civil society organizations once again staged a symbolic protest to express their dissatisfaction with the prolonged deadlock in forming institutions.

The protest featured powerful slogans reflecting public frustration, including “Enough!”, “Don’t talk about elections when you offer no solutions!”, “Competition for new MPs!”, and “Institutions are not for bargaining!”

Since the elections concluded, the Kosovo Assembly has failed to constitute itself, making today’s attempt the 45th to elect a Speaker and form new governing bodies. The continued paralysis has drawn widespread criticism, with civil society groups calling for an end to the political stalemate that is impacting the country’s functionality.
