Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed the return of another group of Ukrainian soldiers previously held in captivity, as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia.

The exchange comes as a result of agreements reached during the most recent round of peace negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul this past June, according to Sky News.

President Zelensky noted that, in total, more than 1,000 Ukrainians have been released thanks to the agreements made during the talks in Istanbul.

He emphasized the importance of continuing such exchanges but did not provide further details on today’s peace discussions or on proposals for future swaps raised during the meetings.
