Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Western countries to exert more pressure on Russia, emphasizing that this is the only way to achieve a ceasefire.
In a statement made on Sunday, Zelensky commented on the recent attacks on civilians in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, adding that “Russia is the one dragging the war on.”
He also highlighted that during meetings with U.S. representatives, the topic of achieving a ceasefire was discussed. However, he pointed out that Moscow “will continue to show contempt for true diplomacy and keep destroying lives.”
“Russia is the one pushing this war further, it started this war, and it is the only one with an interest in continuing,” Zelensky said on the social media platform ‘X’.
