Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that any potential ceasefire with Russia should be monitored with the help of the United States, using satellites and intelligence.

Zelensky revealed that the issue of Ukraine’s occupied territories was discussed during a meeting between the Ukrainian delegation and the Americans in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, he acknowledged that the solution would involve a “difficult dialogue.”

Regarding the situation in Kursk, Zelensky admitted that the circumstances are “very difficult” for Ukrainian soldiers, who still control a small portion of the Russian region. However, the Ukrainian army has denied reports that its forces are at risk of being surrounded by Russian troops.

“The situation in the Kursk region is undoubtedly very difficult,” Zelensky said, but assured that the army “achieved its objectives” during the operation.

In contrast, the situation on the front lines of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine has stabilized, he added.

Zelensky also reassured that he maintains “normal” relations with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, following their stormy meeting at the White House at the end of February.

“Close relations with the United States are crucial for Ukraine,” he said, emphasizing, “We need normal and effective relations.”
