Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held discussions with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen regarding the tightening of sanctions against Russia.
While much of the focus today has been on Russia’s airspace violations in Poland, Zelensky emphasized that the talks also covered:
- Strengthening sanctions in coordination with U.S. and international partners
- Supporting Ukrainian children, including those who have been abducted
According to Zelensky, these measures aim to increase pressure on Russia amid the ongoing conflict. Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, which continues to impact millions of lives across the region.
