Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested that an agreement with Russia to “end the bloodshed” could be reached as early as this week.

The Ukrainian president confirmed in a Telegram post that his officials will hold talks with the United States today on a draft peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia.

The negotiations will be followed by a virtual meeting of the so-called “coalition of the willing” of European nations on Thursday.

The wartime leader wrote on Telegram:
“We are finalizing work on the 20 points of a foundational document that could define the parameters for ending the war, and we expect to present this document to the United States in the near future, following joint work with President Trump’s team and partners in Europe.”

Zelensky continued:
“We are working very productively with the Coalition of the Willing to guarantee long-term security and prevent a repeat of Russian aggression.”

“This week may bring news for all of us — and a path to ending the bloodshed.”

This comes after it emerged that Donald Trump warned Zelensky he has until Christmas to accept a peace deal.

The ultimatum was delivered by U.S. peace envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff during a two-hour phone call with the Ukrainian president last week.
