Volodymyr Zelensky said that he would be willing to step down in exchange for Ukraine’s membership in NATO, suggesting that he would resign as president if his country could join the military alliance.
He also implied that he was ready to sign a deal for minerals with the United States, which was suspended after his tense meeting with Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Friday.
Volodymyr Zelensky spoke to reporters last night following discussions with other world leaders at a summit in London organized by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who suggested that a coalition of European allies could strengthen Ukraine’s defense and ensure peace.
When asked by Sky News about his previous comments that he might resign if his country became a NATO member, he responded: “I could step down for NATO.”
