Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed a joint discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, held alongside Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy.
“Together with President Macron and with the participation of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, we just spoke with the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, and the US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, following the Ukraine–US delegation meeting in Florida,” Zelensky noted.
He emphasized the importance of the briefing, adding:
“We agreed to discuss further details in person—our teams will coordinate schedules for potential follow-up contacts.”
The meeting in Florida on Sunday brought together Ukrainian and US delegations to discuss a potential plan for peace in Ukraine.
Rustem Umerov stated that the talks showed considerable progress in advancing a dignified peace and in aligning Ukraine’s positions with those of the United States.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the Florida meeting as productive, while cautioning that significant work remains to be done.
