Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed the names of nine children who were among the 18 victims killed in a Russian missile attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih.

The attack, which occurred earlier today, also resulted in the deaths of nine adults, while 62 others, including 12 children, were injured. According to Zelensky, the missile strike hit a residential area, targeting ordinary homes, playgrounds, stores, and restaurants. In addition to the missile strike, Russia launched drone attacks on Kryvyi Rih on Friday.

Details of the Attack

Zelensky condemned the attack, stating on his official Telegram account: “The projectile hit right on the street – around ordinary houses, playgrounds, stores, and restaurants. Alongside these ballistic missiles, the Russians also used strike drones against Kryvyi Rih.” The tragic event highlights the ongoing violence and devastation caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Escalating Tensions Amid a Ceasefire Agreement

Russian media outlets reported that Ukraine carried out 14 attacks on Russian energy infrastructure within the past 24 hours, despite an agreed-upon ceasefire. This suggests that the conflict shows no signs of de-escalation as both sides continue to target critical infrastructure in their ongoing military campaigns.
