Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to Poland’s action in shooting down several Russian drones.
He emphasized that a strong response is necessary; otherwise, escalation could increase.
“Moscow always pushes the limits of what is possible, and if it does not face a strong response, it stays at a new level of escalation,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president added that the recent attacks were another step in escalation: “Today, there was another step in escalation – the Russo-Iranian ‘Shahed’ drones operated in Polish airspace, in NATO airspace. It was not just one ‘Shahed’ that could be considered an accident, but at least eight assault drones directed toward Poland.”
He concluded by calling for accountability from Russia: “The Russians must feel the consequences. Russia must realize that the war cannot expand and must come to an end.”
