Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has commented on Ukraine’s drone attacks in Russia on Sunday via social media. He referred to the strikes on an airfield in Siberia, where it is claimed that 40 Russian bombers were destroyed.

He described the operation as a great success and noted that it was entirely a Ukrainian achievement.

“One year, six months, and nine days from the beginning of planning to effective execution. Our longest-running operation. Our people involved in the operation’s preparation withdrew from Russian territory on time,” Zelensky stated, according to the BBC.

Zelensky said he met with the head of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), General Vasyl Maliuk, and asked him to reveal details and results of the operation to the public.

“Of course, not everything can be made public at this moment, but these are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be written in history books,” Zelensky said.

“Ukraine is defending itself and rightfully so – we are doing everything possible to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, and Russia must end it. Glory to Ukraine!” – Zelensky declared.
