Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that peace can only be achieved by ensuring that Russia cannot launch a third invasion of Ukraine.
Referring to ongoing negotiations between the Ukrainian delegation and its allies, Zelensky emphasized: “Our representatives know how to protect Ukraine’s national interests and precisely what is needed to prevent Russia from carrying out a third invasion.”
According to the president, true peace is always grounded in guaranteed security and justice. He added that this principle goes beyond the specifics of any document or plan, stressing that nowhere in Europe or the world should crimes against humanity or sovereign nations be rewarded or forgiven.
Zelensky’s remarks come as US President Donald Trump pressures Ukraine to accept a 28-point peace plan by November 27, threatening to withhold American support if Kyiv rejects the proposal. The plan reportedly requires Ukraine to cede over 20% of its territory, reduce its armed forces from 880,000 to 600,000 troops, and abandon aspirations to join NATO.
