Based on the latest Ukrainian intelligence data, Russia is preparing new large-scale attacks against Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today.
“We are speaking frankly with our partners about the missiles and air defense systems that we urgently need. The supplies are not sufficient. We are trying to accelerate them, and it is crucial that our partners listen to us. Many efforts are currently underway at the level of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense,” Zelensky said during his regular evening address, according to Ukrinform.
He urged Ukrainian citizens to remain vigilant and to heed air raid warnings. According to him, the government is working with energy companies and international partners to secure more equipment and build up additional reserves.
President Zelensky also announced today that a Ukrainian delegation is traveling to the United States to discuss security guarantees and a package of measures aimed at strengthening the country’s progress.
At the same time, he expressed hope that documents related to these issues could be signed on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos next week.
Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, Zelensky said the Ukrainian delegation also hopes to receive clarifications from the United States regarding Russia’s position on U.S.-backed diplomatic efforts to end the war.
On Monday, when announcing the meeting, Zelensky said he had heard a detailed report from the negotiating team on contacts with the American side and instructed the finalization of the document on security guarantees for Ukraine.
