Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he had a new discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron regarding his proposal to deploy troops in Ukraine as a means to help achieve a lasting peace.
“We share a common vision, and reliable guarantees are essential for a peace that can truly be achieved,” said Ukraine’s president, who was in Brussels on Wednesday for meetings with NATO’s chief and European leaders, reports The Guardian.
Meanwhile, Macron’s office has stated that France has made “absolutely prioritizing” its enhanced support for Ukraine and will continue to provide Ukraine with “the means to defend itself and ensure the failure of Russia’s aggression.”
