The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has announced that Kyiv is prepared to share its military experience in defending against ballistic missiles and Iranian-made Shahed drones with countries that have supported Ukraine during Russia’s invasion.
In a video message released on March 1, Zelensky emphasized that recent developments in the Middle East highlight how difficult it is to ensure full protection against missile and drone attacks.
“The situation in the Middle East shows how difficult it is to provide 100 percent protection against ballistic missiles and Shahed drones,” Zelensky said, stressing that Ukraine has gained critical experience after years of defending its territory from aerial assaults.
His comments came after reports that Iran launched aerial attacks targeting Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and other locations in the region earlier in the day. According to Zelensky, the ongoing conflicts demonstrate the growing importance of advanced air defense systems and operational experience in countering such threats.
The Ukrainian leader noted that Ukraine’s battlefield experience has become highly valuable internationally, particularly as many countries now face similar security challenges involving drones and missile technology.
“Now everyone can see that our defense experience is, in many aspects, irreplaceable. We are ready to share this experience and help those countries that helped Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
Tehran has long been considered a close ally of Russia, supplying military equipment and technology that has been used during the war against Ukraine. Zelensky has previously stated that Russian forces have used at least 57,000 Shahed drones in attacks against Ukrainian territory since the start of the conflict.
The statement signals Kyiv’s intention to strengthen international security cooperation, particularly with partners that have provided military and political support to Ukraine during the war.
