Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is actively interviewing candidates to replace his close aide Andrii Yermak, who resigned as Chief of Staff following a search of his residence by anti-corruption investigators. Notably, Yermak has not been charged with any legal violations.
Zelensky emphasized that a decision on his successor will be made “soon”.
“Today, I also held additional meetings with candidates for the position of the new Chief of Staff of the President’s Office. We discussed the office’s working methods and the necessary cooperation with other state institutions in the interest of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
Yermak has been a key figure in Ukrainian politics, serving as a top negotiator with the United States and playing a central role in the administration’s policy and strategic planning. His departure marks a significant moment in the country’s leadership, as Zelensky seeks someone capable of maintaining continuity while addressing ongoing domestic and international challenges.
