Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated on Monday evening that the next round of peace negotiations with Russia could take place in the United States.
Speaking in a nightly address to the nation, Zelensky confirmed that his team has completed an initial assessment following a two-day diplomatic session in the United Arab Emirates, attended by delegations from Ukraine, Russia, and U.S. mediators.
“I received a preliminary report from our negotiation team after two days of meetings. I expect the team to return to Kyiv to provide a full, in-person briefing, as many aspects of the discussions are too sensitive to cover by phone,” Zelensky said.
While he did not disclose specific details, the president emphasized that the diplomatic process is ongoing and moving forward.
“Further meetings are already planned in the near future, and it is possible that the venue will be in the United States,” Zelensky added, signaling a potential shift in the location of the trilateral negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
