Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Downing Street on Monday for a face-to-face meeting with Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and Friedrich Merz, in a sign of support for Ukraine.
Starmer will use the meeting with the leaders of Ukraine, France, and Germany to discuss the ongoing talks between American and Ukrainian officials aimed at reaching an agreement on guaranteeing Ukraine’s post-war security, The Guardian reports, transmitted by Sinjali.
All four leaders took part in a virtual meeting of the “coalition of the willing” about two weeks ago, where they discussed plans to secure a European peacekeeping force that could be deployed in Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire.
Macron is said to have warned Zelensky that the U.S. might ‘betray Ukraine on territory’
In a statement about the meeting released by the European Council, the trio expressed full support for “President Trump’s comments that the current line of contact should be the starting point for any negotiations.”
