Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a three-party summit with U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin amid rising military tensions along Ukraine’s northern border.
Zelensky warned that Russia has massed 50,000 troops along Ukraine’s northern frontier, particularly near Kursk in western Russia.
“The Kremlin’s strongest forces are currently on the frontline in Kursk, in western Russia. Russia is aiming for a six-mile security zone,” Zelensky stated.
Despite the escalating threat, Zelensky assured that Kyiv has taken steps to prevent a large-scale offensive by Moscow in the region.
“Their largest and strongest forces are positioned at the Kursk front to push back our troops and prepare for offensive actions against the Sumy region,” he added.
Zelensky’s call for a direct meeting with Trump and Putin signals a diplomatic effort to ease tensions, though the feasibility of such a summit remains uncertain amid ongoing hostilities.
