Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community to take action on Monday, following a week of over 4,000 Russian air strikes.

“Moscow allows itself to escalate its attacks, clearly taking advantage of the fact that the world’s attention is focused on securing peace in the Middle East,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X.

“This is why no easing of pressure should be allowed. Sanctions, tariffs, and joint measures against buyers of Russian oil — those who finance this war — all must remain on the table,” he added.

Zelenskyy emphasized that this approach could pave the way for sustainable peace in Europe, saying that the world can guarantee it “in parallel with the peace process in the Middle East.”

Ukraine has long called for broader sanctions, including against China and India, two of Russia’s largest oil customers.

The Ukrainian president said Russia has intensified its “aerial terrorism” against cities and communities, increasingly targeting the country’s energy infrastructure. Over the past week alone, Russia reportedly used more than 3,100 drones, 92 missiles, and around 1,360 glide bombs against Ukraine.

“Yesterday, in Kostiantynivka, a child was killed in a church by a glide bomb,” Zelenskyy wrote.

Authorities confirmed at least four deaths in the Donetsk region — two in Kostiantynivka and two in Kherson.

Today, Ukraine’s Air Force reported over 100 new Russian drone attacks, nearly all of which were successfully repelled.
