Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed the ongoing summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, but he delivered a direct message to Russia: “end the war that it started.”
While calling the meeting “necessary,” the Ukrainian leader reiterated that Kyiv must be included in any negotiations to ensure that any decisions made are effective. Zelensky, who was not invited to the summit, said that Ukraine needs “security guarantees” and “sustainable peace.” He thanked “everyone who is helping to achieve real results.”
