LDK MP Armend Zemaj has openly criticized acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accusing him of lacking genuine interest in forming new institutions following Kosovo’s recent elections.
In a statement to Gazeta10, Zemaj said Kurti’s latest public offers for political cooperation are more wishful declarations than real efforts to address the country’s institutional deadlock:
“These are wishful statements from Mr. Kurti, avoiding confrontation with reality. This is how Vetëvendosje operates — through imposition and dictation, the same way they function internally within their party. They believe other political subjects should also submit to them. This is unacceptable.”
Zemaj emphasized that the political process should not be about personal ambitions, but about serving the citizens and building the institutions Kosovo needs.
“We are not here for personal desires. We are here to serve the people and form functioning institutions. But there are no realistic expectations — Kurti is not interested in forming new institutions.”
This statement follows a wave of political tension and failed coalition negotiations, as Kosovo’s parliament has yet to be constituted after repeated attempts. Kurti has faced mounting criticism over his handling of negotiations, particularly from LDK, who recently rejected his proposal for a coalition government.
