The Green-Left Front (ZLF) has reported that Biljana Đorđević, a Member of the National Assembly, was threatened with violence by Vladimir Balać, a student from Ćacilend, while leaving the Parliament. According to ZLF, Balać allegedly threatened Đorđević with “slaughter” after she filmed the installation of new infrastructure in Ćacilend.

“After Đorđević recorded the installations, Balać began filming her, threatened her with slaughter while gesturing as if cutting a throat, and continued to follow and film her as she moved toward the underground passage,” the party stated.

ZLF drew parallels to previous security incidents, noting that convicted rapist Simo Spasić had publicly threatened MPs with sexual violence in front of police officers, yet no legal consequences followed. The party criticized law enforcement for failing to prevent such threats, emphasizing that both the safety of MPs and citizens remains at risk.

“Despite a significant police presence around the National Assembly, both on the plaza and nearby areas, authorities apparently do not act to protect parliamentarians or citizens from criminal elements in the illegal Ćacilend camp,” ZLF said.

In recent days, tensions have escalated between opposition MPs and individuals from Ćacilend. Opposition deputies reportedly removed fencing around the settlement to attend a parliamentary session, during which they faced verbal abuse and physical intimidation from residents of the camp.

The incidents have raised serious questions about the security of elected officials in Belgrade and the apparent lack of effective police intervention in areas controlled by organized groups, highlighting a broader concern about political and public safety in the vicinity of the National Assembly.
