Alban Zogaj, a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo, spoke on the show FIVE about the political situation created in the country.

He said that the President of Kosovo had clearly justified her decision to issue the decree dissolving the Assembly, basing it on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.

“She clearly explained why the decree had to be issued and why we are at this point where we are now,” Zogaj said.

Zogaj added that he has also heard the arguments presented by Vetëvendosje and Prime Minister Albin Kurti regarding the 60-day deadline for electing the president.

“The 60-day deadline seems to be the issue now. It is their right to address the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, and then of course the court should give us guidance, as it has done in other cases, on how we should proceed.”

However, Zogaj said he is not surprised by constitutional violations, claiming that the Constitution had been violated dozens of times during 2025.

“But we are not surprised by constitutional violations because the Constitution was violated many times in 2025.”

He further stated that despite those alleged violations, no political accountability has been taken.

“Clearly, we are not in favor of new elections. The people of Kosovo have voted enough in recent months — we had four rounds of elections in 2025 alone.”
