The Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has confirmed to RTV21 that news circulating yesterday about electricity tariffs not increasing does not relate to the overall tariffs for all consumers, but only concerns the international electricity market rates, where Kosovo and businesses trade electricity.

ZRRE stated that applications for tariff increases by energy operators such as KOSTT, KEDS, and KESCO are still under review.

“The information released relates to the request for determining revenues and tariffs for the Nominated Electricity Operator (ALPEX) and confirmation of tariffs for 2026, which will remain unchanged compared to the previous period. This decision does not concern other energy operators, such as KOSTT, KEDS, and KESCO, whose applications for maximum allowed revenues are still under review and evaluation.”

A decision regarding a price increase for all consumers is expected to be made in March. Meanwhile, citizens will receive electricity bills with new tariffs starting in April.

It was recently confirmed that KESCO requested a 21% increase in electricity prices, partly justified by the rise in the minimum wage, initially from €425 and later to €500.
